GamerDork.net forum rules

The GamerDork forum is a tool for like-minded gaming enthusiasts to chat together in a friendly environment. Its sole purpose of existence is to provide entertainment and enjoyment. GamerDork Ltd. guards this notion strongly and as such, we have laid out some guidelines that everyone needs to keep in mind.

1. Be nice and be courteous. We’re all friends here.

2. GamerDork is a production written by adults and intended for adults. It is preferred that out members are adults themselves but we can appreciate that some juniors are able to join us and that it is near impossible to police this rule. As a result, please bear in mind that your conduct could be viewed by a junior.

3. Use common sense. A bit of friendly ribbing between members is fun as long as everyone’s laughing. Singling someone out to be the butt of all of your jokes is not fun and is definitely not encouraged.

4. Negative “Fanboy-ism” is out and frankly, it’s boring. If you love a console or a game to the point of rapture then by all means please share it with us with wanton joyous abandon. If you decide to pick on or bully another forum user solely because they love a console or game that you hate then it’s not on. If you just plain hate a particular console and decide to bash on it and its manufacturer then we’re willing to put up with it, as long as you know that we think you’re being a bit boring, and as long as you’re willing to listen with an open mind to people who want to defend it.

5. Pictures and stories of an adult theme are permitted here. If you want to post such material then do so in the Off-Topic folder and place a [NSFW] (not safe for work) tag in the title. Also in light of rule number 2, it is preferred that any adult pictures be linked to from our forum and not placed directly in any NSFW threads.

6. Racism, homophobia, bigotry (religious or otherwise) or any other sort of extreme prejudice comes under a zero tolerance umbrella. Cross the line on these subjects and you’re out. For good.

7. Spam bots will be permanently banned.

8. At the moment, the GamerDork forum has no moderators. We have three administrators and we pride ourselves on not having to ban anyone thus far. We really would prefer to keep it this way.

9. A folder has been created to allow our users to trade games (and other items) with each other. GamerDork Ltd takes no responsibility for transactions gone awry and insists that responsibility for all items sold and traded stands fully with the involved parties. However, we strongly recommend that all transactions be paid using PayPal or another system that allows finances to be tracked and all items should be posted using some sort of recorded delivery system.

10. These guidelines are written as just that: guidelines. GamerDork appreciated that because of the passion linked with any hobby, debates can and will become heated from time to time. We’ve all been in that situation. Don’t be afraid to speak freely as long as your actions remain within the context of video gaming discussion. If you feel that a discussion that you’re involved with has become personal or distasteful then please walk away. The GamerDork staff will be happy to hear complaints or concerns from any of its members in this regard.
